PURPOSE: • Perform functional plumbing through installations, maintenances and repairs to all types of plumbing systems and fixtures in a waste or water reticulation network. • Uses plans, blueprints and drawings with a good knowledge of designs layout and plans pipe assemblies according to recognised pipe fitting practices. Challenges: • Efficiently undertake a variety of plumbing tasks ranging from fixing leakages to installing pipes and HVAC systems. • Requires thorough knowledge of hydraulic systems and able to work efficiently with great attention to detail.


 Grade 12/Standard 10 Technical ( Essential/Minimum )

 N2 Relevant Trade Subjects ( Essential/Minimum )

 Trade: Plumber MQA/QCTO ( Essential/Minimum )

POSITION TASKS: The incumbent will inter alia be responsible for the following:

Construction and Routine Work Management

• Read blueprints and drawings to understand or plan the layout of plumbing, waste disposal and water supply systems. • Implement the Curapipe Trenchless Automated Leak Repair Solution in a network pipe. • Isolate and reinstate water supply in a designated network area to be treated. • Work in the water network environment with attention to existing infrastructure (e.g. electrical wiring). • Locate and repair issues with water supply lines (e.g. leaks). • Repair or replace broken infrastructure and equipment to allow the implementation of the Curapipe Solution.

Safe and Healthy Work Environment

• Adhere to all health/safety practices & promote good housekeeping on an ongoing basis. • Address all unsafe practices/potential hazardous situations, rectify/report to superior. • Comply with SHEC/tech requirements • Wear applicable PPE at all times.

Technical Support

• See to stock/spares/tools/equip availability to avoid delays due to shortages • Test system/components for functionality before job card signed off • Do inspections of plumbing infrastructure within the required areas
